Mickelsen Studios is honored to present the incredible Andrew Certo for an exclusive three-day class at our home and studio in Ocala, Florida.
A thriving pipe maker based out of Denver, Colorado, Certo’s interest in using glass as a medium began in 2007 at the Pittsburgh Glass Center and continued at Tyler School of Art, where he earned his BFA. The artist credits art school education with his more open and experimental approach.
In this class students will work on developing their individual artistic voices through sculptural techniques. Andrew will demonstrate his own unique techniques while students build on their existing vocabularies with drawing exercises, discussions about artistic practice, critical thinking, and group critiques. Discussion on marketing and and pricing will also be part of this course. There will be ample time for students to work on the torch with individual guidance from the instructor.
There are ten spots available for this class. Five students can lodge with us in our studio bedroom with attached full bathroom. Five students will have to find their own accommodations at a motel or air b&b nearby. (Please note that we cannot allow camping or sleeping in cars on our property.) Tuition is tiered accordingly. When you sign up, please indicate which tier you want.
Tier 1: Lodging and workstation, all meals: $1200 (limited to five)
